The sustainability claim can be found in the most diverse areas of Raiffeisen Landesbank and we strive to constantly develop and carry it forward.
To this end, measures have been implemented and new ones are constantly being developed that are geared to social, ecological and economic sustainability.
These include the first-ever issue of a Green Bond for small investors, the use of these issue proceeds to finance "green" projects with a measurable positive effect on the environment, the organization of an action day for employees (the so-called RLB Green Day) and the purchase of e-bikes for business trips, to name just a few examples.

We therefore engage in an open and constructive exchange with our stakeholders. Only in this way is it possible to find fair solutions even to controversial issues. Involving and dialoging with our stakeholders is therefore the foundation for the development of our sustainability strategy.
Together with our internal stakeholders, we identify those topics that we consider essential for sustainable corporate management. Based on these topics, we derive our goals and focal points for action and develop tailored measures.

Sustainability Strategy

Together with our internal stakeholders, we identify those topics that we consider essential for sustainable corporate management. Based on these topics, we derive our goals and focal points for action and develop tailored measures. 

We are the central bank of the 39 South Tyrolean Raiffeisenkassen and have the statutory mandate to strengthen and complement their business activities on the credit and financial market. This is done by assuming joint tasks, coordination, consulting, offering products and services at cost price. The aim is to support the Raiffeisenkassen - our majority owners and at the same time largest customers - in their independence and to provide them optimally with the necessary services.

In addition, we operate as a commercial bank on the South Tyrolean market. With our decisions, we also influence developments in other sectors of the economy. We take this role seriously and are actively committed to sustainable business management. As a specialist in pool financing, project financing, export and import financing, and leasing for companies, we attach particular importance to social and environmental responsibility for the products we offer. We are therefore systematically and continuously expanding our product range with sustainable financing and investment products, such as sustainable loans and green bonds.

In our investment advisory services and as the sponsoring company and financial manager of the Raiffeisen Open Pension Fund, we also take into account non-financial factors or ESG factors in addition to traditional investment criteria when making investment decisions, in order to create long-term and sustainable added value for its members and customers.

The management of climate risks - not only in operational ecology - has increasingly become a central task for business. We regard environmental and climate protection as part of our social responsibility. Compared with manufacturing industries, the direct environmental impact of our business activities is limited. Nevertheless, we pursue the goal of minimizing the environmental impact of our operations to the greatest possible extent through the responsible use of resources. We have therefore also set ourselves the goal of becoming climate-neutral by 2025.
